Grandma Kay's Dinner Potatoes

2 # frozen shredded hashbrowns
3/4 cup melted butter, save 1/2 stick
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pint of sour cream
2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Mix together. Spread 1 cup buttered breadcrumbs on top. Bake in 13 x 9" pan at 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
